Children's Ministry
Sunday School
Sunday School, with its life-lasting importance, is a high priority at First United Presbyterian Church. Goals of our Sunday School program are to enhance learning by letting children actively experience the Bible and its lessons for life, engaging children through a fun and stimulating program, developing children's faith by helping them find their place in God's story, and creating a welcoming atmosphere where all church members can share their gifts and talents.
Our "Church Character Pillars" are #1 Love God and #2 Love your neighbor. We strive to incorporate these "pillars' at all times.
Sunday School meets from 9:00-9:45 on Sunday mornings, from September through May. Classes are available for children three year olds and older. There is child care available for infant through three year olds so parents can attend Sunday School.
Good News Club
Our midweek program, Good News Club, meets on Thursdays, from 3:30-5:30. The participants are first through sixth graders. They enjoy snacks, games and Bible study together. The curriculum is a combination of themes focusing on the sacraments, the Bible and Jesus. Our "Church Character Pillars" are incorporated into the Club. GNC curriculum is based on "Covenant People". We make use of computers, puppets, sign language, music and much more to extend and enrich our study.

Nursery
Our nursery is always available for younger children (ages kindergarten and younger) during the entire Sunday worship time and most special events. It is staffed by caring congregational members.
Vacation Bible School
During the month of June each summer, children participate in a fun-filled week of Bible learning, recreation, and hands-on activities during Vacation Bible School. Children ages four through going into sixth grade are invited to attend and invite their friends, neighbors and classmates. Youth going into seventh grade and up as well as adults are encouraged to be part of a family group. We hope you will join the fun!
